Dr Carl Bradley holds a PhD from the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Newcastle, Australia. He has also completed a BA (History) and MA (Defence and Strategic Studies) at Massey University. He has over 10 years’ teaching experience at Massey, and has a background in leadership and management in the private sector. His research interests include military history, war studies, comparative studies, leadership, warrior society and liminality, the Iron Age, Māori and indigenous warfare and response to military imperialism. Current projects include research into contemporary expressions of warrior societies such as gangs and the Defence Force.
