Helen Dollery teaches citizenship at Massey University as part of the Bachelor of Arts core courses. She is an Aotearoa New Zealand historian, whose PhD focused on the relationship between the New Zealand Scouting and Guiding movements and their role in developing youthful citizenship. Her research reflects her interest in how twentieth-century New Zealanders engaged in civil society, and she recently contributed to a social history of Palmerston North.
