Dr Kathryn Hay is a Senior Lecturer and Director of Field Education in the School of Social Work at Massey University. She is also Chair of the New Zealand Council of Social Work Educators field education committee and secretary of the New Zealand Association of Cooperative Education. She is on the editorial board of the Asia Pacific Journal of Cooperative Education.
Kathryn is a registered social worker and a member of the Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers. She has been the recipient of several awards including the Ako Aotearoa National Project Fund Award; several Massey University research and teaching awards; an NZAID post-graduate research award and a Claude McCarthy Award. Kathryn’s most recent research has focused on enhancing the quality and sustainability of social work field education. She has published nationally and internationally, individually and with colleagues from Massey and other tertiary institutions, on various aspects of work integrated learning, social work education and human rights.
