Trudie is a senior lecturer in the School of People, Environment and Planning at Massey University. Her research interests include gendered, sized and migrant identities; qualitative research methodologies and ethics; and the materiality of everyday lives. She is currently involved in a number of collaborative research projects, including an examination of artists as they consider their contribution to national identity; a study of parenting practices in South Auckland; and an exploration of identity construction through material objects.
