Massey University Press is thrilled to announce the appointment of Tracey Borgfeldt to the new position of associate publisher.

Tracey has most recently been publisher at David Bateman Ltd, where she has worked since the early 1990s. Tracey has an MA in history from the University of Canterbury. She has considerable experience in international co-edition publishing and developed an enviable non-fiction list at Bateman, especially in Māori and Pacific subjects and natural history. In 2015 Tracey attended the Yale Publishing Course.

‘There are many exciting opportunities in publishing, and local independent publishing houses are especially able to take advantage of these through flexible, innovative approaches to all elements of the process,’ Tracey says. ‘I am very much looking forward to working with Nicola and the team at Massey University Press to continue to find and publish engaging, informative and beautiful books.’

‘The growth of the press since its inception in late 2015 has been such that we now require another publisher,’ says Massey University Press publisher Nicola Legat. ‘We are so fortunate that someone of Tracey’s experience and calibre is keen to join our small and determined team.’

Tracey takes up her new role in early October 2018.
